Volt Marketing taps StreetPR for event managers to run Ministry of Sound Society national student events tour

Events company Volt Marketing, which organises and markets dozens of Ministry of Sound (MoS) Society-branded events for students in university towns across the UK, has turned to specialist staffing agency StreetPR to recruit a team of dedicated event managers to run the individual gigs and functions.

Volt ran nearly 60 MoS Society events during September and October 2016, as part of a licensing deal with Ministry of Sound. MoS provides DJs, while Volt organises the venue, catering, staff and entertainment, including inflatables, confetti cannons and, for the Ministry of Sound Society Paint Parties, paint.

Dan Jefferys, founder and managing director of Volt Marketing, says: “StreetPR supplied event managers for various locations on the Ministry of Sound Society Tour. They were all professionals who took our event plans and made sure every element worked brilliantly – they liaised with the venues, managed the part-time bar and security staff, made sure the DJs were happy and generally ran the night. Working in partnership with StreetPR meant we could increase the scale of the tour and run a bigger programme than we would have been able to do had they not been involved.”

Volt originally used StreetPR to provide event managers for its Freshers Tour in September. Jefferys says: “The Freshers Tour was the first time we’d worked with StreetPR, and bar the odd hiccup we were very happy with the service. All the managers they provided were very much on the ball and knew exactly what they were doing – which is why we immediately booked StreetPR again for our Halloween Tour in October. The professionalism they brought to the table was impressive, as was their ability to think on their feet and deal with just about any situation.”

James Rix, founder and managing director of StreetPR, observes: “It was a joy working with Volt on the Ministry of Sound Society Tours, even though dealing with so many venues spread across the whole of the UK made it more challenging than most of the jobs we carry out. Unusually for us, we were not involved in the marketing of the events, as Volt has that well under control; it was a real treat to be able to concentrate purely on the operational side.”

Rix adds: “Volt was obviously very happy with the work we did on the Freshers’ events, as they immediately hired us to work on their Halloween events. That’s a great endorsement of the service we delivered, but having said that, there are always lessons you can learn. We look forward to delivering even better experiences for Volt, Ministry of Sound Society and the students who love its events in the future.”
